How to Find Cheap Strollers

There are numerous stroller designs on the market today. The first thing you need to decide is what type is right for you.

Travel strollers

Tend to be larger and are designed to be compatible with your car seat. These strollers have the most storage compartments and tend to be stable. One downside is they can be difficult to manver.

Umbrella Strollers

Light, very portable no frills stroller. Typically have two curving handles and some have a top canopy to help block the sun.

Mid / Lightweight Strollers

Between the travel and umbrells strollers, tend to be lighter than the travel stroller and have more storage and features than the umbrella stollers. These strollers typically fold-up well and can easily fit in most trunk spaces.

Jogging Strollers

These stroller come with large pneumatic tires. They are lightweight and maneuver very well. The biggest drawback is they generally do not fold very compactly and do not have the features of the larger travel strollers.

Additional Items to Consider

• Make sure the stroller you buy has the ability to be opened and closed easily and with one hand.
  
• Make sure the stroller maneuvers easily. It needs to make sharp turns, backup, etc.
  
• Look for material that is easy to clean - plastics/vinyl are typically best. The ability to remove material for machine washing is a plus.
  
• Storage compartments and cupholders - the more the merrier. Make sure storage compartments are easy to get items in and out of - especially when the child is inside the stroller.
  
• Adjustable positioning is pretty standard in most strollers. This allows you to position the child in sitting, upright, and sleeping postions.
